Just in time for this year’s competition in Vancouver, Mark Isham provides a free Olympic-theme suite for his fans. This time around it’s a 9-minute suite from the 2004 hockey flick, MIRACLE. Kurt Russell stars as Herb Brooks, the coach who led the legendary 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team to victory over the Russians in Lake Placid.

This is rousing, inspirational music at its best. To get your free copy, head over to Isham’s site. You’ll need to sign up for his mailing list, but it’s free and you’ll be notified of future news. I, for one, can’t wait to hear his score for the remake of the 1973 horror flick, THE CRAZIES, due in theaters next week. The score is also due next week from Varese Sarabande.
With so much negative press on today’s film music and the current state of the music industry, that Isham continues this level of generosity is nothing short of a miracle.
