One Hall To Rule Them All
On October 9 and 10, Radio City Music Hall will be taken over by Tolkien fans, hobbits, and orcs when Howard Shore’s Oscar-winning score for THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING will be performed live to film with a battery of 300 musicians.
A special weekend (October 9-11) is being planned surrounding the concerts. Scheduled events include:
- The official release of Doug Adams’ new book The Music of the Lord of the Rings Films
- Pre-concert talks and post-concert signing sessions with Howard Shore and Doug Adams
- Discussion with Tolkien linguist David Salo, who translated all the choral lyrics for THE LORD OF THE RINGS scores
- Illustrator/artist Colleen Doran talks about her work
- And more!
I will be covering the events for Film Score Monthly Online, including special interviews with Howard Shore, as well as members of the musical and technical teams. I will provide further updates in these pages, so please check back.
For more information on the concert and to order tickets, visit the LORD OF THE RINGS Concert website or click on the banner below. (I do not receive any remuneration for clicking on the banners.)
If you’re in New York City that weekend, Middle-earth, I mean Radio City Music Hall is the place to be.
